FOCM is committed to furthering chamber music in our community through education and outreach, as well as by presenting concerts. Each season a variety of activities are offered in addition to the regularly scheduled concerts. Activities may range from family concerts to pre-concert lectures to master classes and lecture/demonstrations. The public is invited to attend and participate in some events, while certain schools are targeted for others.

Friends of Chamber Music partnered with several colleges in the 2008-09 season, offering master classes and lecture/demonstrations at Marylhurst University, University of Portland, Lewis & Clark College, Reed College, and Portland State University. We are partnering with West Linn-Wilsonville School District in the 2009-10 season, and offering one master class with the Takacs Quartet that is open to the public. Please call Pat Zagelow at 503.224.9842 for more information.

Friends of Chamber Music also offers pre-concert talks before each of the Vocal Arts Series concerts for the education and enrichment of our community. See the Vocal Arts Series pages for details.
