BON APPÉTIT

Saturday, January 23, 2010    6:00 pm

Steve & Patt Bilow   12 guests   $125

The location is south of Portland (well, Lake Oswego really), but the cuisine is from the South of France. A musical hors d’oeuvre will whet your appetite before you sit down to a French country dinner featuring a selection of pates, lamb cassoulet entrée, and a finale of French cheeses and fruit tarts - all combined with some very special wine surprises. Kuni Nishitani, violinist par excellence, will serenade you to add to the perfect evening.

More details:

An avid wine enthusiast, Steve promises to crack open some fun and interesting bottles for this event!

Kunito (Kuni) Nishitani, violinist and conductor, started his study of the violin at the age of six in Japan. He received training from Yoshinobu Morisue and Professor Chikashi Tanaka, soloist and concertmaster of the NHK Symphony Orchestra, the most prestigious orchestra in Tokyo. Kuni made a sensational debut in Portland, Oregon in 2002 playing the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto with the Beaverton Chamber Symphony Orchestra. In September 2002 he enrolled at Portland State University where he studied on a music scholarship with the celebrated violinist Carol Sindell. Kuni was also the recipient of a Friends of Chamber Music scholarship in 2004. In June 2007, Kuni graduated from Portland State University and was accepted at New York University as one of a few select students of Martin Beaver, first violinist of the Tokyo Quartet. He graduated from NYU in 2009, and is currently living in Portland where he is teaching and performing.
